Speckled Trout Biting - The cold fronts over the last week have driven the trout a little deeper. We were catching them on top water before the cold weather, but now we are using cocohoe jigs pretty much all the time. The fish are in 5 to 10 feet depths and are biting wel more...

Speckled Trout Schooling - We are at the peak of fall fishing now. The speckled trout are in good numbers in all areas of the marsh. We are seeing a lot of bird activity that makes it easy to locate the fish.
If you run across the bird activity you can pretty much throw more...

Trout Schooling - The school trout are in all the usual places around the river system now. They are pretty easy to locate if you watch the bird action. When you get on them you can catch them with whatever you want to throw. My preference is a 1/4oz jighead with a more...

Fall Fishing Finally Turning On - Delayed by the flood of fresh water dumped into the Pascagoula River by Hurricane Gustav, the speckled trout have finally moved in. We are getting a lot of strikes on top water lures, so we are pretty much sticking to that because it is so much fun. more...

Hurricane Should Turn Fish On - Hurricanes are not something coastal residents wish for, but after one passes through we always see a spike in the fish bites. As I write this I am in the feeder bands of approaching hurricane Gustov. We should see winds up to 70 mph from the storm more...

Reds and Flounder Best Bet - Speckled trout fishing is still slow as is common in the Pascagoula River marsh during the hot months. You can get a dozen or so if you work at it, but they just aren't bunched up right now. The specks will start showing up in good numbers in a few more...

Tough Times This Week - In spite of good quality live pogy we have had trouble getting bites this week. Up until now we were able to count on flounder to make up for finicky specks and reds, but this week the flounder were also hard to find.
A week ago we were limiting more...

Flounder On The Points - Flounder have been the easiest to locate and have been biting live cocohoes and jigs. They are in the natural ambush positions on the points along the river banks at the mouths of bayous and lakes. All of the flounder we are catching are nice ones more...
